We survey every borrower and real estate agent involved in a closed mortgage loan to learn what we did well and what we could have done better.  It’s important not just to see how much clients like us, but to see what we can do better to make the mortgage experience easier and less stressful.

This survey is for Jeff Baxter at Fairway in Rehoboth Beach, DE office, for the property at 11626 Diamond Ln, Ellendale, DE. Where do I begin? First, my husband and I were treated like real people, and not as a sales lead. At the time of the initial contact we were not ready to apply for a mortgage, and unlike other major companies in the Rehoboth area, we were not pushed into unnecessary at that time credit pull, also, Jeff listened to our needs and stuck to the best solution to our peculiar situation. Jeff showed a lot of expertise and patience, exhaustively answered and explained any questions or concerns, and the entire process along the way. Always returned calls and emails in a very timely fashion. Same goes for his team. It seemed to us that he worked more for us, than for the company. His focus on us and our needs, on our understanding of the process, that took over 6 months to complete, was the greatest first-time home-buyer loan experience one could have. For comparison, we met with a mortgage specialist at a local office of Wells Fargo discuss the options available to us, after a careful research of the mortgage products offered by them that we could qualify for. We also presented him with the detail of our credit report in order to avoid a hard pull at the time when we weren’t ready to apply. His main objective was a want of a credit pull and steering us the the less favorable program (FHA vs. USDA). He claimed that he would need to examine our options and run our numbers, which after over a week of email and phone exchanges never materialized. On the other hand, Jeff and his team (Kathleen, Amy), always responded to any voice mail or email virtually within minutes.

2. Was there anything we could have done to serve you better?

Nothing really comes to my mind. The service, courtesy, and professionalism shown was above and beyond what we came to expect by when dealing with other lenders / mortgage brokers.

3. Would you recommend us to others? Why or why not?

We already did and will continue to recommend Jeff and Fairway to others. The attention to detail, no surprises, great communication, quick responses, and language used that did not require a dictionary to understand. As a (potential) borrower, I really appreciated the no pressure attitude. Jeff showed that my interest, and not the company’s sales goals, were our common objective.

We were kept “in the know” on each stage of the process by email. It was our pleasure to work with Jeff Baxter throughout the loan process. He guided us through it as we have not purchased a home in 35 years. Presently we are downsizing the PA. home in which we raised our family and relocating to Delaware after my retirement.
